Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC)

Outdoor Emergency Car is the NSP’s award winning training program for patrollers and others in the recreation community who deal with emergency situations. This nationally recognized program is designed to help you manage the toughest emergencies, in all seasons. Basic emergency care skills are taught and include airway adjuncts, assisting patients with medications, splinting and bandaging, providing emergency care for environmental illnesses and injuries, using special equipment and techniques particular and managing prolonged transport.OEC technicians are first responders, and have the knowledge to identify life threatening injuries, care for, treat and transport, but not to diagnose them or provide terminal support or invasive therapies.

OEC 2016 Course

  • When: September 8th – December 17th
    • Class meets Thursday evenings
  • Time: 6:30-9:30pm
  • Where: Coffee Mill Ski Patrol Shack
  • Practical Exam scheduled for Saturday, December 17, 2016
    • Where: TBD
    • Time:8:00am-Noon
  • Materials Required: Outdoor Emergency Care, 5th Edition
