Coffee Mill Ski Patrol
As the leading authority of on-mountain safety, the National Ski Patrol (NSP) is dedicated to serving the public and outdoor recreation industry by providing education and accreditation to emergency care and safety service providers. The organization is made up of more than 28,000 members serving over 650 patrols, including alpine, Nordic, and auxiliary patrollers. It’s members work on behalf of local ski and snowboard areas to improve the overall experience for outdoor recreationalists.
Coffee Mill Ski Patrol is comprised of over 40 members with a combined mission to promote safe skiing and snowboarding among the public and provide emergency rescue and medical services to injured skiers and snowboarders. Coffee Mill Ski Patrol welcomes anyone who likes to ski or snowboard and enjoys helping people to join the National Ski Patrol and to become a part of the Coffee Mill family. We are always looking for new members.
Joining the Patrol
Coffee Mill Ski Patrol is a member of the National Ski Patrol organization and is a volunteer and non-profit organization. There is a commitment of time, effort, and money to participate, particularly in the first year.
Each fall, an Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) training course is offered at Coffee Mill. Similar in content to an EMT course, however OEC training is shorter (about 50-60 hours). Upon finishing the course, the candidates are required to pass a final evaluation. Each ski/snowboard season Coffee Mill Ski Patrol offers hill training and transportation. Following completion of both hill training and the OEC course the candidates are qualified to provide emergency care and transport to the skiing public.
